Power Seats Wont Work With Low Battery

The power seats in my 1999 US Model W202 C280 work intermittently apparently based on the peak voltage available from the battery. Seats work fine if battery is fully charged from long in-town trips or 20 minutes of highway driving. Seats stop working if car has been used for short trips and battery is not at peak voltage. There are no known battery drain issues, as the car is original, and if the car sits for either just a few minutes or for a couple days there is no difference - seats will work, or not work, based on their condition the last time the car was driven. However, charging the battery on a battery charger overnight will always cause seats to stark working again. Have replaced the battery (with a new one) and the alternator without either making a difference. My 2004 E500 has a circuit that senses low battery voltage and displays a message on the dash stating that "convenience features" are therefore temporarily disabled. Wonder if the C280 may have a similar design. Apparently there is a sensing circuit for the seats that senses low battery voltage - can this sensitivity be adjusted? Any other recommendations other than replacing parts such as the voltage regulator or accessory relays?
