1997 C280 wont shift untill its fully warmed up, please help !!
Hi all, Im new to the forum, Im located in Miami.
I have a C280 that has had its transmission fully rebuilt a few months ago. It runs smooth, no issues at all. However; the transmission wont shift until it is at 80+ degrees C.
Has anyone experienced this issue? Please I need help!
I dont understand how it can run so well once its warmed up and wont shift at all while under 80 degrees. Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Maybe the conductor plate, very common... (Should be new from a rebuild, but if not replaced, then it is 100% prime suspect)
Your warranty from rebuild should still be in place, if not try Star Specialist on 120 st, excellent prices...

Hey bud, thanks for your response.
The conductor plate was replaced for a brand new one from the MB dealer.
I got codes;
098 - Component Y3/6y3 (1-2 and 4-5 shift solenoid valve) is sporadically faulty. (short circuit to positive)
099 - Component Y3/6y5 (2-3 shift solenoid valve) is sporadically faulty. (short circuit to positive)
100 - Component Y3/6y4 (3-4 shift solenoid valve) is sporadically faulty. (short circuit to positive)
101 - Component Y3/6y6 (Torque converter lockup PWM solenoid valve) is sporadically faulty. (short circuit to positive)
116 - [Component Y3/6b1 (transmission oil temperature sensor) or component Y3/6s1 (starter lockout contact) is sporadically faulty or both.] or [Component Y3/6s1 (starter lockout contact) or the lead occasionally has a short circuit.]
150 - The feedback through the transmission protection is sporadically not received. (Resistance too high)
Maybe its a short circuit somewhere within the harness?

My guess is you have a connector that is not fully seated. (As in about to come unplugged).
Troubleshooting should start will a good visual inspection, so look for loose connectors...
Don't forget to locate and inspect engine ground cable... Sometimes people leave the ground cable off ???
