Battery Change & Ignition Effects

Battery Change & Ignition Effects
First time posting and appreciate any insight that can be shared with me. I'm truly stumped here.
1998 C230. Always started on first try. I had the battery swapped out for a new one a couple of weeks ago. Since then, it never starts on the first try but will always crank right up on the second. No other impacts that I have seen as a result of the battery change. Any ideas what could have happened here? It's strange and kind of a pain that I always have to turn the key twice now after the battery change.
Thoughts?

Yes, it cranks normally on the first try but never ignites. Second try I get the same cranking and then ignition. This wasn't the case until the battery change though...

Issue resolved
So I took my car in to my local independent mechanic for some brake work and I asked him to look at the starting issue I described above. They took a long look at it and had no clue. I then took it to a second indy shop and, unfortunately, had the same results.
A few weeks later, my car was headed to the first shop for some scheduled work and the car died on me. Turned over great but never started so I had it towed in to address that plus the already scheduled work. Turns out a connection to the fuel pump had gotten loose due to a faulty clamp and that fixed it.
I went to pick up the car and -- lo and behold -- she started on the first try (and has ever since). I suspect my fuel pump issue was slowly degrading and perhaps wasn't getting enough fuel to the system on the first crank attempt. Hence, the need to crank it a second time prior to the fuel line issue being rectified.
Thanks to all for the suggestions and answers. Much appreciated.
