rattling noise, think its the belt tensioner

my car is making a rattling noise when i first give it gas from idle and when i first put it into gear while idling it makes the same sound, just had the tensioner pulley replaced as well as my motor mounts

Check the front center pulley. Lift the hood, and watch it to see if it has a slight wobble.

yeah i have set the parking brake and put it in drive and looked under the hood. it does wobble while idling but not in park

If it does wobble, it could be that the pulley is scraping on the water pump as it's rotating.
Try tightening the 4 pulley bolts, and if that doesn't work, it could be the water pump shaft bearing is worn out. You would need to replace it, but not a big deal, except for the belt which can be a *****.

Glad you found it...They can rattle, but was it working?
Anyway, if you want to save some bucks to fix it, you can buy a used compressor on Ebay for about $60.00, and just switch over the parts.
