Using a 220CDi turbo on a C220.
I was just wondering if anyone has put some thought into this or attempted this. I am looking a purchasing a W202 '96 C220 and as I can never leave anything stock, my first thoughts are of adding decent HP to the inline 4 lump.
Custom turbocharging is so expensive so why not purchase a used turbo, exhaust manifold, etc off a 220CDi and attempt to bolt it onto a C220? Yes they utilize different engines, the M111 vs OM611, but if the exhaust manifold bolts line up why not give it a go? I am not looking for major power and would only like to boost 9 PSi or so. At the very least I would have to fabricate a exhaust manifold, but could still use the turbo and intake?
Any thoughts or am I barking up the wrong tree?
