2000 C230 Kompressor
What's the true mileage on my car? Scam?

Hi, I bought a 2000 C230 Kompressor a month ago with what I supposed to be the accurate mileage of 60k. But yesterday, the gauge showed 75k all of a sudden. Granted, the gauge has been having issue displaying digits correctly...it would miss a line here and there. I bought the car based on the mileage shown on the gauge (60k) at the time of purchase. I wonder if there is another way of telling the "true" mileage of the car? Thank you.

Never heard of an odometer jumping around. No real way to validate an odometer reading. About the only thing I can think of would be to run a CarFax (if you didn't before you bought the car) and see if the mileage tracking makes sense.

I have never heard of that happening as well.
To roll the odometer back, which can be done, the equipment to do is worth about $20,000.00, so it is unlikely that happened.
