You get what you pay for (or less, seldom more. You are driving a premium car, and unfortunately it costs premium bucks to keep it running. However, you can learn a lot by using the Search forum (which it appears you haven't) and if you then put 1 + 1 and get 2, you will be well served.
Internet stores offer parts at substantial discount compared to the dealer, but you should know that parts ain't always parts, some are expected to be better than others. If this were strictly true we wouldn't have any problems... but no.
I like to order from, but have no interest in, fcpeuro, eeuroparts and autohausaz. I stay away from rockauto because although they have the lowest prices, they also sell a lot of aftermarket brands I've never heard of. It's not likely you'll get premium parts for Benzes at your local NAPA, but you can get parts there.
Generally I try to find the M-B part number for what I need, then use Google to find vendors, or go straight to my preferred sites with the part number. YMMV.

I would say that most parts with the exception of electrical can be bought on line from aftermarket suppliers at considerable less $$$. Things like the MAF should be Mercedes.
The cam shaft sensor is about $130.00, and yes, that is an OEM rip off price
