Has anyone used liquid electrical tape?

My car quits idling when it gets driven in the rain for a while. I looked under the hood, and (surprise) there is a split in the wiring that goes to the idle control valve. I put some electrical tape on it, but it happened again when driving in the rain last night. I was thinking that liquid electrical tape might do the trick. Has anyone used it? Can it handle the heat under the hood? Does it last?

Wow never heard of that? Anyone please chime in and clarify?
Hopefully it's heat resistant...could use it for my café racer project..

If you can't replace the wiring harness then I would try to use a heat shrink tube on the open area

Not sure how I could get the tube on the wire. I at least would have to disconnect it, then get the tube over the plug end.

Why would you do that---simply get an over sized tube and use a scissor to open one side---place over wire and use a heat gun!!

I thought if you cut it, it would be ruined? (I have never used them before)

I was thinking that when it shrunk it would pull the cut part apart, as opposed to if it was uncut it would shrink evenly and pull tightly and evenly.

Well I got some and tried it. It is the stuff you use to coat your tool handles (plasti dip). It seems to have coated the wire nicely. Haven't driven in the rain yet, but it looks good.

Been driving in the rain the last 2 days, and no issues. Looks like it did the trick! Good stuff!
