97 c230 stalled and wont start again
Hi. I've had this 97 c230 since 2011. 236k miles. My uncle bought it from an older lady who came to his shop to get the bumper fixed. Last night i was driving about 60mph, 1/2 tank of gas and it kind of made a jerking sound then i could no longer give it any gas. The engine was off, i pulled over and it wouldnt crank again. This is the 3rd or 4th time it's happened. Once in 2012, i towed it to a shop and they said they cleaned the fuel tank and replaced the fuel filter i think. The next 3 times were months to a year or two apart. I would basically pull over and keep trying to crank it up and it would eventually start without any other problems. That made me think that it wasnt the fuel problem aat all and maybe that shop crank it and it worked. Anyone ever dealt with this. My mechanic friend came out and said im getting air, spark and that he can smell fuel when i try to crank it so he think it's getting fuel. He suggested the crankshaft sensor. I also see one post on here about the overload relay fixing a similar problem in '08. Any info will help.

i had a mobile mechanic service come through last night. They said my camshaft wasnt turning (like my uncle suggested after hearing me trying to crank it over the phone). They suggested timing belt/chain. Where would my CPS be located on the engine? I have a toolbox from autozone with 50 pieces of basic tools. ratchets, sockets, allen head wrenches, screwdrivers. Would it be possible for me to change it myself? Also thanks for the response.

Update. Changed the camshaft and crankshaft sensors. Still not starting. My uncle, who's a mechanic, says he think it's the timing chain now. Over the phone he said it is rotating too fast meaning the camshaft isnt turning, it's not. i can see it from through the oil cap.
