W202 c220 tach needle hunting at idle
My 96 c220 auto tachometer needle has developed a slight hunting motion at idle (in drive or neutral). The fluctuation is not more than about 100 rpm and is intermittent. The engine itself is running at a constant rpm so it would seem to be a fault in the cluster/wiring. Did some searching and all I could find was general reference to the stepper motor but nothing specific for the W202. Anybody had this problem and how was it resolved.
