1998 C280 (W202), when operating the heater/ac on auto and when the fan settings are placed on 5, 6, 7th positions, I get a roaring from the fan, and it also causes vibration that I can feel across the dash into the steering wheel! I don't hear any squeaking, so I don't think that it's a bearing (from reading other forum posts about noises from the blower), but would that signify something else loose and causing the squirrel-cage fan to be off-balance?
