2001 C320 Sedan
IPod wired into C320
I recently bought a 2001 C320 w/o a cd changer. This is my first post here, and I tried to search the topic before posting. I read the long thread about wiring Ipods through a pre-existing wire hidden in the door. That thread seemed to indicate this wasn't an option for me.
Then searching the web, I found this quote:
I have no AUX button and want to know for sure if I can use the cd changer slot somehow to operate my Ipod or not.
Thanks
Then searching the web, I found this quote:
I owned my car — a Mercedes C320 with a glove box CD changer — nearly a year before stumbling onto its audio input jack inside the glove box, as well as the AUX setting on the car stereo, which allowed me to hear the iPod through the car's speakers when it was plugged into the jack.
Thanks

I have a C230 and hold the CDC button down for a few seconds. The display will show "AUX". Do the same to go back to cd changer mode. Not sure if C320s work the same. Post a new thread and see if others reply.

it would help if both of you listed on your Member Profile the following:
- your location (US models vs rest-of-world models differ greatly, and helps people answer your questions precisely)
- your car's Model Year 01-05 (some things on 05 models didn't exist on 04, or completely different electronic interface)
- C320 or C230K is not enough, also specify: COUPE or SEDAN, and even further:
Sport model, luxury, 4-matic, manual, auto, etc....
if you quote someone, just because they have a C320, doesn't tell anyone anything. What year, coupe or sedan, US or not US, etc....
if you've searched and couldn't find an answer, then having these things stated up front, will make it easier for people to answer your questions.

and this is what the AUX input from a car with Comand looks like.
i plan to get the iPod integration done when it is available. 6-disc cd changer is nice but 60 GB iPod is nicer

comand is navigation and radio and cd changer and phone
It works like this: you select a location from the Points of Interest or enter a street address and the car will tell you how to get there by audio and video communications.

I used the tape adapter in my last car for a few months..it sounded TERRIFIC. Near CD quality. Only thing missing was control.
