Hmm. You guys mind just relinking to the DIY or the threads you guys found w/ the information on this? I believe I have smelled what you guys are describing before. I will get under the car + look when I get home, but my car is well over 50k and these could use a good replacing anyways.
Thanks,
Thanks,
The bushes are cheap by MB standards.

I believe everything there is to know in the universe is stored in your computer !

I don't know about everything - jk jk! I'm used to having a secretary doing my filing. Now I know what she did all day. Used to think she spent her life on the phone to friends & doing her nails.

it would be great to link both of those pieces of info/data here, so that we can quickly reference them when we come across camber bolt / castor bolt / bearing / bushing issues.

If people would only STFF & then open their question up under the thread in the sticky as Drex always requests we would not have these problems!!

Glyn, I agree.
The thread is this one:
https://mbworld.org/forums/showthread.php?p=2754684
titled: Installing Front Camber/Crash Eccentric Bolts (Possible DIY)
We can ask Drex, to merge this thread into that one, and adjust the title to whatever you think should be added. Specific words using the correct Mercedes-Benz parts terminology, or maybe a better common-sense title. Something that when people search, they specifically find it there.
Drex... help !!!!

Just had these replaced on my 07 under warranty today. Since mine is one of the last W203's to come off the line, I am not to convinced the redesigned bushings are more durable, since I am at 35K miles and I would imagine mine originally had the new redesigned ones. There were not leaking, smells or any other signs of damage to them. I was told they were replaced per DTB P-B-33.15/20. Anyone has access to the text of that bulletin?

Camber Arms
I just lowered my 04 C230 Sports Sedan and I wanted make my own camber arms from this website:
Can someone please provide me with the recommended tube lengths that I should purchase so I can replace my stock control arms. Thanks.

Interesting. If ya had posted this earlier. I would have measured the the camber arms I just bought...
edit: I just went into the garage and measured the stock camber arms... they are about 11.75" from the center of one hole to the other....

I bought mine from K1Motorsport, but after looking at that page you posted. It seems like you could build yourself a set for a pretty low price.... check out my last post... I went and measured the stock camber arm..

Yea, I used the stock bolts... but the camber kit came w/ little adaptors to help hold the bolts... Look at the pix on mymbonline.
Keep us posted w/ your diy camber arms.

Stripped sway bar bushing bolts? Anyone had this?
Stripped sway bar bushing bolts? Anyone had this?
I tried to remove the bushing brackets and they won't even come out on the
passenger side, just spin, and one of the 2 on the drivers side won't torque at all.
Anyone else have this problem and how did you solve it?
Looks like they've got steel bolts screwing into aluminum subframe sections.
I'm wondering if I need to drill out messed bolts, drill everything out to a larger diameter, then retap to the next bolt size up.
Then I need to find the proper steel hardness.
Suggestions?
I'm worried about driving...I think there's likely a lot of stress on those brackets.
Dammit! MB Sac replaced those bushings...and apparently stripped everything.

Hmm... If they stripped everything, how are the bolts holding the brackets in place? Sorry, I'm a bit unclear.
In the past, while removing these bolts, I have discovered that they are ridiculously long bolts.... and just took forever to get out. Are you SURE they're not coming out at all? I noticed a bit of metal shavings while removing mine, but nothing terrible...
