True dat, Blake. It is really based on what people's needs are and you are right, the Basics provide an ideal setup for those that don't necessarily need to adjust the dampening for stiffer settings.

I guess I just get kinda fixated on the availability (which is what I like) vs. the fact that most people don't need to have adjustable shock settings.

Either way, both setups are great bang-for-the buck products.

ps...especially if they decide to bring back the possibility of upper pillowball mount and edfc compatibility.
Don't get me wrong, I love the tein basics and if you need that drop, it's the best way to go for coilovers (especially for the pricetag!). I'd upsell to the tein superstreets depending on their needs too, but of course, I'd go with KW V2s, and I did .

Drex, did you finish the euro-us plate ghetto mod yet?

Couldn't make it in time before closing, so gotta do it after I get the brake pads installed tomorrow or possibly Sunday...I'm gonna post a question on the other thread for you. Don't want to stray too much from Waveykat's thread.

If your cruise control doesnt work then what you have is a mismatch in the front to rear tire profile so that now the ESP can no longer measure properly. It either thinks the front is moving faster than the rear or the rear is moving faster than the front and thus it cancels the operation and the safety function is disabled.

You wont damage anything but in a dangerous situation the ABS is not enough to give you traction in a sharp avoidance turn and that could mean a great deal in a split second.

Without ESP your car is just another brick rolling down the road.

Geeze, what did people do before ESP and ABS and BAS? OMG, WATCH OUT!! were going to crash... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh crack!

Actually, now i got to thinking, I want to ask...

WHAT HAPPENS if your driving along, and a 19" tire blows... assuming you pulled safely over... You go to replace your 19 with your spare, and now what.

WHAT DOES THE COMPUTER DO? Does it lock everything up? DO you turn ESP off? Do you have to run in DYNO MODE?

You are lucky you didnt get one mechanic that was totally pedantic as he would have done about 50 miles. Seriously, how do you test a safety system for function if its only means of measurement are the rate at which the wheels spin.

If you have increased the outside diameter of the wheel then yes it will get really confused but dont worry you will have gotten a lot more speeding tickets because your car will have been travelling faster than the speedometer indication.

Generally only the length of the rim spokes increases and the profile of the rubber decreases. So even if you use a spare tire (tyre) then it wil run exactly the same way.

What you may find is that the spare has a shorter bolt. That needs to be take into consideration because the brakes will be totally ruined if the long bolt goes into a generic Mercedes spare wheel.

That really sucks. I was hedging my bets on a damaged speed sensor from when the wheels were changed out.

If I were the SA I would say it's the MB Flathood Emblem....it's disrupting the airbalance of the vehicle causing the ESP malfunction message.

They didn't even perform a short test?

They just saw the wheels and thats it?

Post your receipt....

Which ones did you get? Basic or Super Street?

This sound is most likely the coils making noise. TEIN does have a sleeve that you can buy and have slid onto the springs, so that it reduces the noise (if it bothers you that much).

That's the only thing I can think of.
