Lol, believe it or not, there was still some pad material left. About 2mm worth I like to get my monies worth out of wear parts.

Should have waited a couple of more days on replacing them, then.

More pics and details to come when the job is finished.
Looks good! Nice to see no obvious cracks in the caster bush.

I can't believe you got that much use from the stock pads and rotors. My C230 had a brake job every 30,000 miles roughly for the fronts.

Glad to see it is still doing well. Any more updates about the transmission?

Caster bushes do look great, as does the flex discs. Had a free thorough inspection of the car at an indy during a MBCA event. Everything looked good.

90% Highway and fantastic engine braking with the 7G and 2.5L engine make it possible.

Transmission is fine. Was a little embarrassed to report back, but I am pretty sure my wife tapped the lever for the triptronic mode, and didn't realize it. Because I did a scan afterwards with SDS and no faults or events were stored.

Oh, and don't anyone beat me up on the filthy wheel wells and suspension. It is going to get a thorough detail soon along with the rest of the car.

Still debating on whether or not to get some Mercedes-Benz decals or not for the calipers.

Is this really the forum for this kind of discussion?

Get the stickers, you only live once. Our cars are close to being on their last legs anyway.

Get the decals. Pay no attention to Tommy, the coupes have been on their last legs since they came out.

Caliper decals

Anyone know a good place to get caliper decals other than Xenonmods.com? Appears they are no longer in business. When I go to checkout, I get an error "There's a problem with the merchant's PayPal account. Please try again later." No response from seller.

I looked on Ebay, and most are the curved ones, and I want straight ones. Just want plain white "Mercedes-Benz" ones.

There's this new website called "ebay". Unfortunately, I don't have a link, but if you search, you can probably find it somewhere.

Maybe an MB guru could help you out further.

EDIT: I'm over 9,000 in pointless posts here now.

I guess you failed to read the part where I already searched Ebay, but could only find the curved ones. I want the white ones exactly like the OEM ones. I found a UK site that had some and ordered them. We'll see what happens.

Congrats on 9K

Clever after the fact editing of the original post and merging into your build thread won't hide the truth of your original question.

If you went with Brembo instead of MB, it would be much easier to find the stickers.

Been on a LONG hiatus from MB World due to work obligations. Big project at work is done, so I hope to go back to regular posting.

Not much to report. I see I have to dig up finished brake pics.

Just hit 123K and took the car to the local MB dealer to finally replace the 722.9 Conductor plate. It has gotten to be a nuisance going into limp mode quite often. My wallet is $1000 lighter, but still happy with the car, so I can't complain too much.

Not too bad at $1000, I got an early Christmas present last year at 100,450 miles and had my car sitting at the dealer from Christmas to New Years. Unfortunately, even with the p0717 code, they could not just replace the conductor plate with my transmission serial, it required the entire valve body. At least I got a free loaner!

Not too bad, John. Good to see you're still chugging right along.
