Reseting Service Light on 05+ W203

Hey guys,

I always do my own servicing because i dislike taking the car to the stealer, but now i need to figure out how to remove the Service A, B etc Light in my dash.

Anybody know of a quick walk-through? i ran a search but only found how to do it on the ML.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

i know there is quite a write up on it in the manual...

I think you just go to the screen and hold in the reset dial for a few seconds, I read it once, but never tried it... then you can adjust it to 10,000 12,000 15,000 etc.

Unfortunately I lost my Owners Manual!

Anybody know exactly how to do this?

Ignition on, but not running.
Remaining miles to service displayed.
Press and hold the dash reset pushbutton.

How to reset AFTER service date has been exceeded

Does anybody know how to reset the service light AFTER the date has been passed? as in... "Service A is exceeded by 100 days"

I've tried a couple of things and it doesn't work...

Doesn't sound like you're in the "on" position or you didn't hold the button long enough. The 1st time I tried I wasn't in on and got the same problem. 2 clicks puts in on, the 3rd "toggle" starts the car. Its either that or possibly doesn't work when u exceed the limits.

The procedure described doesn't seem to work for me either ('05 C230K, 5K mi., 25 days past due for first A Service).
I didn't have time to try every combination of menus, door open/closed, engine start/no start, etc., but I did try to understand the Owner's Manual on this subject. It says to take it to the dealer or have your non-dealer tech somehow get it from his M-B service info.
If this really can be done by the owner, then there must be some more steps to the procedure.
From the above posts, it's not clear whether the procedure is supposed to work with the 05's. Has anyone done it? If so, how?

I reset my 2005 Service A reminder last month folowing the intruction from a post posted by kjb55 and it worked for me. I was 30 days late.

1. Ignition key in position 2.
2. Use the page button to select odometer readout in cluster.
3. Use the scroll button to display FSS indicator.
4. Press 'R' button on cluster for approximately 2 seconds.
5. Display in cluster will advise "to reset service reminder - press 'R' button for approx. 3 seconds.
6. Press 'R' button on cluster for approximately 3 seconds.
7. Service reminder is reset.

Same here unable to reset.

Same here, I have a 2003 C230 Sport Sedan with overdue service, actually got to Service B overdue. After my friend did the service for me, I tried what the manual said to do, and now it froze at overdue Service B by 2900 miles.

Retried to reset my service light, that says Service B overdue by 2900 miles, and it works!! Just turn ignition to position 2, and held the reset button after selecting the service screen, it will prompt if you want it reset, and press the button again. I have a 2003 C230 SS.

sweet, this helps me out a BUNDLE!

Now then, if only I could figure out how to replace those spark plugs on my own... but I can't even seem to get the engine cover off. Oh well, looks like I'm going to be STFF this morning...

It worked for me with a 2006 C230! Thank you so much!

You would need to turn the Ignition key in Position 2, and make sure your display is at the "Service" page, and press + hold the RESET when the screen ask you to do so.

Thank you again!
