S/C whine during Touchtronic

for those of you with auto coupes, have you noticed that there's no whine from the s/c when manually shifting? mine doesn't whine unless it's just in drive? anybody else have this problem?

What are you talking about ? The supercharger kicks in based on engine rpm. It does not matter if the auto is shifting or you are shifting.

viper is right. superchgr and turbos kick in at certain rpm and really whine at high RPMs. dont matter about auto or manny. try shifting your auto at about 5k+rpm, windows up, off stereo, and listen.

i know that, but it just sounds like the bypass valve is open when manually shifting and i dont hear the whine. i can hear really nice hollow-soundign whine between 2000-3000rpm when in drive. i was just curious if there was something in the coupe's programming that left the bypass valve at least partially open when manually shifting.

I get whine with the autostick mode. I do not drive it much in that mode, except to control the speeds though neighborhoods at 20-25mph. I like cruisin in second, as the car sounds pretty good and is peppy in that speed-rpm range.

I find the shift delay way too long for my likes at normal driving speeds.
