P0457 DTC, any suggestions?
Been having a CEL for a couple of weeks. Dealer did the ole smoke check and found the filler pipe and canister purge valve leaking and changed them. Day after the CEL is back on. As a precautionary measure I then installed a new gas cap but still the CEL comes back after being cleared. What would you guys suggest having a look at next? I'm hesitant to go back to the stealers because I am concerned they are not diagnosing properly. Can anyone offer some advice please? Of course I will have them double check their work from last time but if I can avoid them I'd rather. Thanks.

I want to help you, particularly as this is a code I have not seen before.
What year is your car, do you notice any decrease in performance. Details. You need to give to get.
Go to the oracle. His name is Buellwinkle. Find his user profile and go to his website. There you will climb the highest mountain to view the list that describes what the codes mean. Come back and post the explanation of the code.

Sorry forgot to mention the car is a 2002 C230 Kompressor. No discernible decrease in performance. If it matters the code was read using two different canners, the first was an Actron 9180 and the second a Equus Innova 3030. Same code both times (generic for sure), but point to loose or leaking gas cap.
