CONTROL: The Cellular Phone systems in Model Year 01 and 02 SL's no longer
use the automatic mast
antenna (M11). When installing a Cellular Phone kit into a Model Year 01
or 02 SL, the PSE Power Antenna control cable must be removed from the mast
antenna (M11). The procedure is as follows:
1. Remove left rear taillight inside cover.
2. Fold back left rear inner trunk panel to gain access to M11 antenna
motor.
3. Remove 4-pole plug from M11.
4. Release pin lock on plug (use tool part number 210 589 02 33 00), remove
pin #2 (blue/green wire).
5. Wrap pin with electrical tape and secure inside wire jacket.
6. Reassemble and reconnect plug and reinstall covers.
7. Verify operation of antenna by radio only.
8. Verify phone operation does not raise mast antenna.

Please note the following when replacing the windshield washer reservoir (A
210 869 12 20).
The dimensions of the windshield washer reservoir and heat exchanger were
changed as of Model Year 2000. Only the new version, part number A 210 869
12 20, is available as a spare part.
When replacing the windshield washer reservoir, please follow the
instructions given below:
a. To avoid leaks, replace the reservoir (part number A 210 869 12 20)
and the heat exchanger (part number A 210 830 16 61) together not
separately.
b. Only install reservoirs manufactured since 01/01. The month and year
of manufacture are visible on two round symbols below the part number.
For warranty, please use Damage code 86011 04 and Operation Code 82-7200.

placing the transmission gear selector lever into reverse ("R") with the
exterior rearview mirror switch in the passenger side position, the
exterior rearview mirror moves into the "park" position. If you encounter
complaints of the mirror not returning to the previous "drive" position, in
vehicles with chassis end number A219159 or lower, replace the right door

New fuel sending units have been developed which use a thin layer of gold on the contact fingers. If you encounter instances regarding fuel gauge accuracy, install the new version fuel senders after verifying that no other faults exist. Please also review the contents of DTB 47/00 (issued August 14, 2000 as MB-Net 386) regarding instrument cluster applications.All dealers are requested to refrain from placing stock orders until July 16, 2001, to allow PDC stock levels to build sufficiently. All future orders for the old numbers will be automatically substituted to the new numbers. Please refer to WIS documents number AR-18.00-P-0025 (A or AV or B, or C) for Measuring Oil Consumption procedure and form.
When an engine with an oil consumption condition is repaired, the completed oil consumption form should be filed in the vehicle history file for review by a MB representative.
In cases where an engine, long block or short block is replaced for oil consumption, a copy of the completed document should accompany the returned warranty part.
