Is my car setup for Bluetooth?

Hey everyone,
I was poking around the car today and I noticed some wiring going to the center console... Upon pulling a little plug out on the top half of the console, it looked like a phone jack... Is my car Bluetooth enabled? If so, what do I need to buy to make it work?

Thanks in advance!!
Ian

Nope just some prewiring now if it has a phone cradle then you may want to look under the panel in the trunk and see if it has the required modular to get Bluetooth working with the purchase of a few other things. But honestly i would get a visor clipped system or something like that as it will be much cheaper.

Remove the cover over the spare tire then look up near the rear seats and you will see a plastic cover that has a few clips. Under it if equipped are the teleaid, voice control, phone computer and the esp sensors.

But yeah I can almost guarantee that on an 03 c230 it doesn't have it as it was an expensive option that I have only seen on special ordered cars and fully loaded c320s and c32s.

Another question regarding the matter please. I've recently replaced the radio with an aftermarket unit with Bluetooth. I was wondering if there's a way to connect the Kenwood's mic to the teleaid's microphone and use that for Bluetooth instead of running it under the dash thru the pillar and under the headliner only to stick the mic behind the rear view mirror. Thanks!

Might be a way but I haven't read of any one actually doing it.

The only Bluetooth product I know of that actually integrates perfectly with the stock head unit (2002-2004 W203) is the Argos MB-1 (made by EISKits but discontinued, but sometimes found on places such as eBay). Yes, this means the TEL and steering wheel buttons work as well, as well as the factory microphone which is pre-installed inside the dome light. The product plugs right into a port (25 pin, just like those old printers) in the rear R side of the car, and some modifications (easy) to the fibre optic loop have to be performed. It does the job but unfortunately the sound quality isn't the best. Remember this was cutting edge when the W203 first came out in 2001.

The other dumb thing is that the puck only reads one's contact list (phone book) off the SIM card and not the ones stored in the phone. Since pretty much every modern phone stores the contacts on the phone and not inside the SIM, the phone book feature is effectively disabled. For me, retrofitting the Linguatronic option (which allows storage and voice dialing by name of up to 50 numbers) solved that problem, though not everyone is going to want to spend $100 on installing that feature. It does work great though.

There's also a product from ViseeO that works supposedly, but I'm not sure if it applies to the pre-facelift models, and if it requires any electrical modifications.
