Just Rollnnn.... evolution of another W203..

Chapter 1.

Like others, i think it will be interesting to see the progression of my car. Hopefully, you will find this as amusing and helpful as i do. Im not a DIY kinda person like i used to be in my mini truckin and honda days, but have learned alot through this site and getting things done to the C230. All criticisms are welcomed...

Info: 2005 Mercedes C230 SS Kompressor. Alabaster White. Purchased used on New Years Eve 12/31/07 from Cerritos Acura with 32,000 miles.

Stock a couple days after i got it.

yes, the license plate says hi rl n (high rollin, yeah i know...) my boys got me this for my bday, cuz all my previous cars were slammed and they got me this when i bought my ford explorer, since it was a gift i had to transfer it over.

First thing i wanted to do was get the clear bra. The paint up front was still very clean, with only a few chips. I drive 27 miles one way into work so i figured this would be a good investment.

For some reason i decided to the do the headlight film in the light blue color

i Had this done at aerotect in Pomona, i dont remember the exact cost but it was around $650 for partial hood, partial fenders, full bumper and headlights and side mirrors http://www.aerotect.net/

After about a month of wheel shopping and photoshopping wheels onto the car, i finally decided on which wheels to go with. I ordered the Work VS-XX Burning Black 19x8f 32et, 19x9.5r 34et with Falken Fk452 235/35 & 265/30 from Status Auto Design in Manhattan Beach. Since these wheels are custom made in Japan I had a estimated waiting time of 8-10 weeks. Ordered first week of Feb 2008.

Memorial weekend 2008, I drove out to Las Vegas. While on the 15 fwy about 2 miles before Barstow, the guy in front of me ran over tire tread and shot it up about 3 feet into the air. We were going about 80mph with a full road so i really had no where to go, it came down, i swerved to the right, so it hit the left side of my bumper, ripped half of my lip off, bent my center mesh piece, which i took off and put in the trunk and tore the fog light mesh off, Its still out on the 15 fwy somewhere...

Click the image to open in full size.

I had to pull over and take the lip off. I rode to Vegas with it in the backseat. Not a good way to start a Vegas trip!! When i got back home on Monday, i spent hours buffing the bumper and everything cleaned right off. The only thing left is a small tear in the clear bra. The clear bra i believe saved alot of the bumper and the lip held up perfectly....

Chapter 4. The drop

I went with Tein Basic Coilovers for the suspension, great coilovers, but should've gone with Tein SS. I bought them used on this site. I had them installed at TWS in west Covina. Great shop, great guys and great prices.

Chapter 5. The Grille

I was really interested in getting the color matched CL style grille. I like the stock grille but wanted to see how it would look on my car. I only saw it in pics from Anthuny85. When he decided to sell it, i thought why not.

Click the image to open in full size.

I kept the stock one and will be changing back and forth depending on the mood...

Chapter 6. The Exhaust

I've always loved the look of the C55 exhaust so i wanted to do something similar, but didnt want to front like i thought i was one. I decided to go with a dual setup. When i saw slvrc230SS setup, i had to have it. This was done at AAA exhaust in LA http://aaaexhaust.com/ It is a universal Magnaflow single inlet, dual outlet, with Mandrel bent custom piping with 2 silverline oval tips.

Ever since i bought my wheels, i felt my tires didn't match. My rear has a slight stretch while my front didn't since its only 19x8. I decided to get rid of the 235/35 and change it with a 225/35. I think it looks better and matches the rear more, but i could totally feel a difference in the ride. I didn't think I would be able to since its a small change in size, but i was wrong. It's ok though, looks over comfort anyday!!

Thanks Aecasasus!! are you referring to the muffler?? I dont know the actual part number, but its a universal magnaflow, single inlet, dual outlet. The piping is regular piping from the shop that's the same size as the stock piping..

How they did the dual piping was impressive. I've been wanting to do a quad but my spare tire gets in the way and i have no idea how to get around it. Nice setup and love the sound.

you should see mines, LOL. if you though roland's was nuts, you'll be going coocoo over mine. it's so cluttered with pipes going all over the place!

roland's is clean, and if i didn't have an eisenmann i would've used a magnaflow also.

oh, and thanks roland for your pm's about AAA!

i have 235 right now and thinking about going 225 in front on 19x8.5 wheels think will stretch too much ? i have 265 in the back but had 255 it was stretching so much that i went with 265 and now it rubs and cant ride 4 adults.

I like that dual exhaust set up

It's a cleann car

I love your wheels and exhaust in particular, What a clean job for the exhaust! Did the shop actually paint your muffler and pipe?

I noticed you have a CL grille on the car now, selling your stock grille by any chance?

Thanks kompressorc230! Its been done 2 ways. This way and another where they put the muffler towards the center of the car after the 2nd cat and just run the pipes on each side of the spare tire holder...
