Question Who here has reset their FSS indicator on their own? Question for you.

I read thru the process for resetting it in my book, and I have a question. Currently my car says "Service A in 25 days". If I reset the FSS myself, will it reset to start calculating "service B", or will it reset to "service A" again? Does my dealer need to reset it? Do they use a special reset tool?

Thanks guys.

no special tool, just go to the menu that says how long til service, hold down the reset button, and after a while it will ask if you're sure you wanna reset, just push the reset button like it says, and that's it. as far as i've seen, it just goes to calculating for service b.

Thanks for the reply dswildfire. So have you reset it yourself?

It may seem like a no brainer question but I just wanna be sure. I'd hate to f**k up my FSS calculator. I'll just end up making more work for myself.

I didn't actually do it myself - but I watched as the dealer did it for me (they had forgotten to reset it when they serviced it.)

It is just as dswildfire said. It will start calculating for your next service.

yes, the dealer forgot to reset it so my mechanic showed me how to do it.

I am aware of the process on HOW to change it. I DID read my manual. BUT, I still had an extra question.

Read my first post in the thread and it should clear things up.
