Problem with acceleration in a 2002 C240-Please Help

I suggest you read this thread. Especially from post #40 onward. We battled, took a few wrong turns but we fixed it & Kris did not know cars well & made mistakes like not marking coil packs. This is the kind of methodical workthrough required if you don't want to pay the dealer a bucket full of money. These cars are complex.

hey so i finally got the fuel pressure guage and hooked it up , i turned the key to acc and got a reading of 20psi and it sat there for a few. then i went ahead and cranked it and it shot up to like 45 or so and then after a few seconds it just dropped completely to like 10psi and lower then it just stayed at 10psi and the car was ideling irradiately. eventually the car just shut off.. whats your take on that ?

ok so i just replaced the fuel filter started up the car the car started up and sputtered a bit at first then it ran like a champ sounded perfect i was like holly dookie stain then its like it lost pressure again and went to crap the car just started sputtering again and the car ended up shutting off. while it was running it sounded like it used to everything sounded perfect. what do you think its the feul pump? do fuel pumps pump fuel constantly? and im going to do a pressure test again. and what readings i get ill make a video and post it again! BRB!!!

i went ahead and pulled my codes and this is the code i got after doing the video above
P0123 Throttle/Petal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit High Input what im going to do is im going to reset the TPS as shown in another thread I read and go from there i know that the TPS and the pedal assembly are all one unit.. but does the TPS explain the low fuel pressure reading that im getting? Would it be responsible for it? because the video evidently shows that the fuel pressure at the Fuel rail is not where its supposed to be ( Reading my mercedes handbook right now. It says that Fuel Pressure should be 54 to 59.5 PSI 3.7 to 4.1 bar
If the fuel pressure is not within specifications Check the following
A) If the pressure is lower than specified check for a restriction in the fuel system. One likely cause is a clogged fuel inlet strainer at the base of the fuel pump/fuel level sensor module in the right fuel tank chamber. Note The strainer cannot be replaced separately from the fuel pump. If you're unable to clean the strainer, Replace the fuel pump/fuel level sensor module (Section 5)
B) If the pressure is higher than specified, replace the fuel pressure regulator (Section 6) Which is an integral component of the fuel filter, chamber is located behind the left chamber of the fuel tank.)

What is your fuel pressure. We have just been down this road on the W209 forum & it was the fuel pump. 35 psi instead of 55 psi.
It does sound as though you have a TPS problem as well but I would chase down the fuel pump.

GOOD MORNING! Well the current reading when the vehicle is running is currently sitting at 20psi and drops to 11psi.. I included a few videos above running a fuel pressure compression test. please check them out ( unless you already did) My other question is why does it have what it seems like 2 fuel pumps on each side i know the one on passenger side is the actual Fuel Pump its self but what is the one on the driver side? and which one do you think is honestly responsible for the pressure being so low!!!!

You need the VIN - You can read it at the bottom RHS windscreen corner from outside.

i have a issue finding the chassis number i know you say its the VIN # but Oreillys seems to keep saying that the VIN # is not the chassis number my last numbers on my Vin are as follows 151019

Maybe somebody else can chime in or you need to deal with some store more competent than Oreilly's. The whole Benz part ordering system globally runs on VIN. If you look under the carpets under the passenger front seat you will find a number stamped in the floor but it will line up with the VIN.
