C230 Coupe 2002
Question Oil Filter Wrench

I am new here so bare with me. Just bought a filter wrench for my 02 C230 Kompressor. It fits losely on the housing but they have two bolts designed to tighten up against the housing. Does it work like that and when removed, is there a spring holding down the filter. Not sure what to expect when removing the filter. The dealer did the first oil change but not a mark on the filter housing??Dealer only put 6 litres of oil even though the manual says that it holds 7.1 litres. Did they change my filter?? Does anyone know the capacity of the manual tranny. Also does it come with synthetic fluid from factory. I find it hard to put it in first when still moving. A friend has the same problem.

I don't think there is anything holding the filter in place (im talking about the oil filter wrench). Just take it out and have a plastic bag ready so the oil can drip down into that. As for the manual tranny fluid, check in your owners manual to see how much it holds, if it doesn't say then call MBUSA, they have been pretty helpfull w. my questions.

Oh and the manual tranny fluid is supposed to be a "lifetime fill" which means they don't think its necessary to change it, but i'd change it every 30,000 miles or so.
