Installing 2din Nav Head unit...STUCK NEED URGENT HELP
Hi Guys,
I have a non-Harmon Cardon head unit.......
I am in the process of installing a 2din nav head unit and am stuck, please some urgent help would be highly appreciated........look at the first picture below, now I know all the wires on the factory harness on the left side are for speakers, but I would like some clarification on all the wires on the right hand side, the black, Red with blue line, Yellow w/black line, Blue w/black line and the three brown wires......what do these wires stand for......
Now I know the yellow is for constant battery 12v, the red is for ignition. black ground and blue for antenna power..........what do all the other wires stand for??
The blue w/black line and the 2 brown wires..........the unit does not fire up when if I connect using the standard coding system i.e yellow is for constant battery 12v, the red is for ignition. black ground and blue for antenna power.PLEASE HELP ASAP

Ohm it out.
Brown is used for ground in european cars.
Please stff. There are numerous posts on here where people have swapped head units and left info.

Ignore the black/blue wire. Its the power antenna extension control so you dont need it.
Brown wires are ground.
Im guessing the HU is a Pioneer?
Now are you just plugging in the AVIC harness to the cars harness and hoping that all the wires will line up?
When I did my AVIC install, I found that the cars harness did not line up with the AVIC harness. So I ended up tapping the 12V ACC and the constant 12V from the cigarette lighter ring bulb and the cigarette lighter power source respectively.

Sorry...dont remember the wire colors. But basically you will find 3 wires going to the cigarette lihter assembly. One is brown...which is the common ground for the cigarette lighter bulb and the cigarette lighter power itself.
Trace the other two wires...from the cigarette lighter end. Connect the 12V ACC on the AVIC to the wire that connects to the bulb. Connect the 12V constant on the AVIC to the other wire that connects to the cigarette lighter.
You dont need to tap the ground wire because the cars harness (brown wire) will supply ground reference.

Volvo
heres the Pin layout for that connector
9 = can b low (brown) twisted together with 11
10= mute (blue/black) - wire there if you have teleaid)
11 = can b high brown/red twisted together with 9
12 = Ground (thick brown)
13 - Antenna
14 = +12 (thick red/black)
15 = Blank (Tm 30)
16 = wakeup (thin red/black)
Thats what I found by searching ,By looking at the pictures it looks like your wiring is a tad different than what i posted up, Did you have a comand unit in there before?

My GPS is very very very accurate without the speed sensor.
It can point out the difference between adjacent houses!

12Volt (yellow wire on after market radio) = Red/Blue (check with volt meter)
Ground (Black wire on after market radio) = Brown (thick brown)
12Volt ACC (Red Wire on after market radio) = Black/Yellow on Cig Lighter
Speaker wires
Front:
Left - (-,+) Brn/Green - Green
Right - (-,+) Brn/Orange - Orange
Rear:
Left - (-,+) Brn/Pink - Pink
Right - (-,+) Brn/White - White
Hope this helps...
