check engine light

Check engine light came on couple of days after getting new C230K and has stayed on, but car is operating fine. How important is it to get it checked out by dealer right away? Any one with similar experience?

If you have Teleaid, push the little "wrench" button and let them do a diagnosis. If you don't have Teleaid take it in.

I had the same problem....check your fuel cap. that was the reason why mine came on. I took it to the dealer, gave me a loaner car, and said it was the fuel cap. it was not put on correctly. so check that first, if thats the case and you went to the dealership, it would save you a whole lot of time. so check that. im assuming once the cap is on properly, the light would go away. if that does not work, i would too suggest taking it to the dealership to have them take a look at it

On mine it was the thermostat. It was a problem when the weather got colder and it would take forever for the heater to warm up.
