Remote not working!
My remote has stopped working unless I point it straight at the door before pressing the Lock Door button.
So I STFF and find I do have the dreaded "217" key. Symptoms are just as described - the key only intermittently works via the radio antenna but is usable via IR.
Now I check my spare key. Same problem. That's strange - is it still the key or is it the receiver?
I bring the keys to the dealer. They want to check the battery first. Battery is ok. Next I mumble something about the "217" problem but my advisor says it can't be the key because if both failed it must be something in the antenna.
If anyone has access to the TSB on this, can you confirm that the problem will only strike one key at a time?
I did notice the problem right after getting my car washed - I saw the attendant open the hatch, spray the inside window, and wipe it. It sounds incredible, but could cleaning the inside window from an open hatch short out the electronics of the receiver, just like when people were reporting the problem after tinting?
By the way, the stereo works just fine. FM reception is ok - not great, but not bad either (I live in hill country).

I believe the receiver for the locks is located just under the headliner over the rear seats - very close to the inside of the 'hinge' area of the hatch.
Could very well be the receiver.

Well recently I had a post about mine. It stopped working after I tinted my windows.
However after like a week or so, it started to work again, and has been working fine since then.
