Replacing Amplifier in 2002 C320
The Bose amplifier in my 2002 C320 went out. Rather than buying a new one from the dealer ($1,800), I found a replacement on eBay for $250 -- the part arrived today.
I'm not the most mechanically inclined guy in the world. Would I be foolish to try to hook it up myself? If so, can anyone tell me how? (e.g., where is the amplifier located?, is it simply plug and play?)
Many thanks for the advice!

It should be on the right side behind the trunk lining. The trunk lining comes out after you remove some push pins. It should be plug and play after that.
I would recommend looking for water damage while you are in there since that is the most common reason for amp failure one a Bose car. The Bose amps don't ever seem to have issues compared to the new 05-07 HK amps that had tons of issues.
There is no star coding needed since you are not changing the fiber network but be careful with the orange cable it is breakable. If you decide you did want some star coding though you know who to talk with
