Group Buy for LCD? $66 for those with heat related fading.

while we are waiting on the LCD to come in, i decided to order a bunch of random sensors to replace just for the hell of it...stuck on my last sensor..the KNOCK SENSOR. Anyone know where it is on the crank case?

Someone did. They even change it to different colors. But this is not an easy thing to change out. It requires soldering on the thin electronic board, which seems too risky for any DIY.

I looked at it and decided to leave it alone to not risk damaging the unit. This is definitely not something one wants to touch without any experince with soldering.

Yeah I remember seeing an article of someone changing it to blue LED, but I didn't remember it as a DIY. Oh well, it is a 10 year old car (mine is anyway).

Sadly no update The shipping estimate is 10-14 days and it has been 12 I think since shipping or something like that so if it hits 15 I will have to contact the shipping company and complain. Sorry I didn't mention the ship time before I was not paying attention to its estimate and just looked at it yesterday night.
I have not forgotten about you all I just want this headache over with honestly and it kills me to keep you all waiting.

Ha...I seriously considered the AC duct mod, but decided that I didn't want to give up use of the upper vents for heat in the winter.

On a positive note, I can report that we've hit the 90's in coastal South Carolina and my display is still perfect.

Well guys I don't know whats going on. I don't think they have arrived in Italy yet so I emailed the shipping company to figure out whats up. If I don't have a response soon I guess it is refund time. So no I have not forgotten about you guys and will keep you updated.

Nope it sold to pay off the c55 . Yes I sold it with it. I wish I could have all of my W203's in the garage right now

It was 92 degrees the other day and I couldn't see my screen at all, now I get what you all ment about how bad it was. Did the screen fading ever happen to any of you while you were still under MBs warranty and get it switched out threw them?

I took my car in under warranty and they told me they could not duplicate the issue BTW that happened twice and the second time I took it in there with a picture and when it was doing it. I gave up after they idiots backed my car into something.


And yeah I don't know why it has not arrived yet. I am in contact with the company and they are being great about it and even gave me another idea on who to contact to find my/our package.

Wow even with a picture and this being a common problem they didn't change it, that sucks. And did your car get majorly damaged when they backed into something?

Yeah I was angry but more angry about the other damage.
It was not bad just the small limp on the bottom of the bumper and now a few years later the crappy repair work is back to haunt me as the paint is flaking I will take a pic and post it in my main tread not bad but angers me

New member.... Too Late for W203 LED group buy, if so, planning another? Also, my rear blind won't work in warm weather either... Doesn't it get hot in Germany?? Any quick fixes for that?
