What does this symptom indicate to !!!!!!

every time I put the key FOB in the inginition switch the first time and trun it on it wount start, i switich it off and try it a second time and it will start.....what does this symptom indicate to......is my battery diying.......some thing else going on that I should take care of......

mine is a 2007 C280 4matic am at 83K miles ..... and while at it can some one please give me the part number for the E-brake switich and a link from where I can buy it from.....

any help is much appreciated...

You can have your battery tested but that sounds more like the EIS is not working right. What happened to your e-brake? Mine is not feeling right lately when I release it.

ok will do.....

the e-brake is poping the ebrake light some thing to do with the switich...i tired tightening the cable but that lasted for juts a while and now it is back on again....I even tried rigging the switich by adding a pad so the switihc reminas depressed but even that is not working now....so I have to change the switich......but need the part number to buy it and then DIY it...

sorry havent replaced mine. looks pretty simple though from the design of the clips. Look like you just pull the switch out like any other connector and put the new one in. Maybe glyn or someone can post up a shop manual pdf of it.

you are right phister...i see there are 2 lock notchs on the switich may be I take a small screw driver and press one of the notchs that will dislodge the switich and then I can pull it out and then juts push in a new one.....seams to be too easy but will try getting the old one out...
