20k is pretty up there for a 07
I have an 06 SS C230 and walked out the dealership w/extended warranty for under 15k. Be it a 4matics run a little more but being it a 07 it shouldn't as much as a new car almost. 17.5 is the highest I would pay but that's me. I would make sure they service everything before I paid for it. |

Ok, thank you both for the thoughts. I'll do some more research on the price of the car. Cargurus.com has been great for the analysis and comparisons, this seems to be in the range of price for non- certified 07 c280s in the DC area, so with certification seemed fair. But I'll keep digging!
Any ideas what is fair for the extended warranty and what I could reasonably expect to face if I don't take the warranty? |

I agree that at face value the $20,000 seems unusually high. But your research is right.. with the miles and the CPO and stuff, that's likely what one would expect to pay. I wouldn't do it personally, I prefer the Sport models over the 4Matic or Lux models. But our climates are obviously different.
The 08 C300 would have the same powertrain as you'll have. Also, if I am not mistaken, doesn't the W203 4Matic use the 722.6 5-speed auto? Even in 07? If that is the case then you're definitely better off with the 07 reliability wise. Push come to shove I prefer the late W203 to the early W204. |

I paid $16500 for my 07 c280 4matic and was at 41k when I bought it from a small town dealer. So your dealers price is way too high..........Even my car had brand new tires all round brake job done, drove it straight to to a MB dealer paid $120 for a full inspection and all TSB update. currently I am at 86k and am loving the ride..........

Great, thanks all for your feedback.
Yes, the 07 is the 5spd auto, and I prefer the drive performance of the 07 to the 08. I'm guessing the DC area prices are higher than elsewhere... the selection of c280 4matics around here (at reputable dealers) seems to be in the upper $19s to $23k. |

I have been an owner of my C280 2007 from day 1 and today it crossed 100,000 kms.
Not a single issue and it drives brand new. Just changed the brakes at 80,000kms and the regular oil changes at every 20,000. Since it's a 4 matic it will require a transmission fluid change at 100-110k. Other than that this engine was the last of the W203s and they are made bullet proof! You don't need any warranty guaranteed! |
