help loud noise near airfilter area in the engine bay.
hey guys, i hae this annoying noise that i could also hear while in my car. is it normal? i do have 159000 mile on m car. on the video of where im pointing at is where it is loud.. keep in mind, i alrady changed out my belt, tensioner, idler pulley, sprag bearing. maf, water pump ... car feels a little laggy at times. like the car just feels like the rpms are. throttle response not responsive and did the reset already. i feel like im missing out a part to also replace due to high mileage.

There are hoses and joiners all over the place. Weaving its way between the manifold and the cylinder head is a 1/2 inch hose. Squeeze it and if it feels hard or mushy its gone bad.
There is also another hose between the rocker cover and the intake manifold.
This is a 4 or 5 hour job. You need to loosen the intake manifold, use a hoist and also replace the coolant link as it normally snaps when touched.
Look at the attached photos when I did my friends overhaul.
Covers off, airbox removed.
Parts kit
* Valve
* Crank hose
* Cam hose
* Elbow shaped hose
* Joiner hose to valve
* Special preset clamps (avoids over-tension)
* Manifold gaskets
* Fuel injector O-rings if you dismantle the fuel rail.
Coolant link always breaks (very cheap) Left side of engine
Photo of intake
Photo of worn out air intake hose
The end result was a massive improvement in fuel economy and significant torque improvement between 1000rpm - 2000rpm (below the supercharger cut-in).
I was using 98 octane fuel and I reset the engine controller with the diagnostic and cleared the learning. I made an ignition correction by specifying only 93 RON fuel and higher.

I will try to find the paperwork. The list was comprehensive and may be more than your mechanic will use. Though I hasten to add that the parts are included for a reason.

Given your mileage, vibration at speed is usually bearings as you appear to have done everything else.
Did you also replace your thrust arm bushes and camber bush ?

If your looking for the 12 dollar hose replacement. A 203 018 1282 is not valid no more. They change the hose again. I was there this morning trying to get another hose. while my engine is apart for timing chain. I didn't have time to wait around for the girl to search for the new hose part #. I just ordered my other things and left.

A 271 018 12 82 Breather hose - all engine parts start with engine number.

Good luck with the breathers. I think you are on the right track.
Can you post that video again but get someone to rev the car up from idle a few times.
Have a decent roadforce wheel balance done. This is not the first time you have suffered shakes.

A 271 018 12 82 - i got this hose from Autohausaz.com - it recently broke on the crankcase end because it had been attached with a screw clamp - the clamp seems to have been overtightened and cut right thru it. Managed to reattach i after taking out the piece that broke off, but I am about to order another one. replaced the clamp with a squeeze one.
