Question M271 engine with idle problem / unstable rpm

Hello boys and girls

Could use your help on a idle problem for the m271 kompressor engine. (c180 komp)
I've been searching the forums but couldn't find any answer related (or rather a billion different answers)
So to be more sure I would like if you guys could help me out.
(video below)

Seems like it's random, some days its stable and some days its not.
But what I can tell is that when Im reversing the car starts / tries to stall when coming to a stop. Same thing could happen when in drive and stopping at a red light etc. The CEL is on.
Also had a problem when the car would jerk and could hear the exhaust stutter like a lambda malfuction. turning off the ignition and starting again would fix the problem.

I've replaced the fuel filter and spark plugs.

Please help me out??

(sorry for my English, not much used anymore)
Regards
Skelterize from Norway

oh, Just a note..
On the video the rpm is stable until I accelerate, when I let the pedal go the RPM drops and almost stalls then tries to correct itself.

What code(s) does the OBD scanner show?

Does it make any chirping kind of sound when the RPM is jumping?
If yes - it might be the alternator pulley; how long ago have you checked it?

Went back under the hood to take a look, found out the pcv hose were obliterated.
The diagnostics showed alot of different errors all the time after deleting them.
But now that the pcv hose is replaced shouldn't the errors go away by them self?
I had a chirping noise when it was jumping, but now that the car runs smoothly again its gone. Should I still replace it? As of now the car runs like it should, only thing bothering me is the CEL... :-)

Sounds exactly like the problem I used to have. Check out my thread here:

I had the same problem with the rubber hose. I took it to the dealer several times and they were not able to find the problem. After sometime my motor stopped working and started to work in 2 cylinders. The problem was because by the time the dust started to deposit in the valves until the could not open properly till the point it affected many other parts from the top part of the motor. After long discussion MB really noticed about this problem but did not recognized as a factory problem. In both of my c180k happened the same but one of them was not found this problem by the local MB dealer. I recommend you to solve it as soon as possible.

Hi Guys, I have the same problem. Which hose is it. is the one connected to the cylinder head ( on the right of the motor ). I changed the coolant sensor, plugs, actuator magnets, timing chain, tensioner , but certain times when I stop, it seems as if all cylinders are not operating and cannot idle properly.
The hose I am talking about, is fairly soft and looks like an air hose- maybe perished by now?
