FS: OEM Coupe Bi-Xenons

Up for grabs is my OEM set of bi-x for Coupes only. They were purchased new from Mercedes and refinished satin black. I've had them on my car for 3-4 years so there is a fair share of wear and rock pits on the lenses. Both lights also have some scratches on the lens but no cracks or broken tabs. Ballasts and ignitors are in perfect running condition. The outside could use a cleaning and some polish on the lenses to give them some life again.

Comes with a set of 8000K D2S bulbs.

$400 as is + shipping in OEM packaging. There are two boxes, one for each light from Mercedes.

This is a perfect opportunity for whoever wants to pick up a rare set of OEM Bi-X for their Coupe as a small project. MSRP on these are over $2k new.

C230 Sport Coup + 2006 W164 ML350 + 99 Ford Escort (What the heck, it gets 38 mpg!)
That's an awesome deal. I had to pay $600 + swap them from one car to another AND install my old lights into the other car and include them in the deal. Brutal! Of course I got tails and mirror blinkers thrown in too, but also had to include and install my old ones.

Somebody better jump on this! Are you parting out? What about the Brabus lip?

Sorry to add to picking through the carcass, but if you are parting out and still have the Speeds with brackets and the airbag sensor, I do need a partner for my driver's seat.......

Are you interested in the lip?

The speeds are gone, but I have a Recaro Sport in black on the passenger side. Comes with the bracket and airbag sensor. The seat reclines and also has thigh support and lumbar adjustment.

I think I've said this before in one of your other threads, but if you do end up splitting that up and are left with just the bracket and sensor, I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands. Am driving up to Toronto several times soon, so wouldn't have to deal with int'l shipping, either.

Will do! I will get in touch as soon as I find a buyer for my seats.

Yeah, and since Tommy is going to be driving up there, he could pack and ship it to me perhaps?

Do you have a thread in the classifieds?

Asking me first would be nice.

Just so you know, getting a Chargespeed lip for my CRX mailed to me in Joisey from San Diego cost me about $250.

So shipping may be cheaper directly to him instead of going through me. And that's not even mentioning how drunk I'll be on the drive back home from Toronto, and what could "accidentally" happen to the lip at that time.

EDIT: Damn, infected - been a year and a quarter.

Sorry Tommy, I was going off the fact that it has actually been longer than a year and a quarter if you trace back all the part out threads, that I probably won't find a buyer for the lip this time around either, hence we totally bypassed the step to ask you first. Nothing personal.

Really, I was kidding. But to ship Calgary to Toronto, then north Joisey to the Bay Area, I would think combined would cost more than Calgary to the Bay Area, no?

Ask 1st? What fun would that be? Ha, well looking at the suggested retail price,
fugggetaboutit! + as you were saying, the shipping and then paint. Even if he was willing to offer a hefty discount, it wouldn't be worth it to me right now.

I had the chance to buy Blakes for $150 but he sold it to Jordan instead since I declined at the time, who promptly lost it when it fell off the car at speed on the highway, because he didn't properly attach it.
I was only enquiring, and have now decided against it. So problem solved. Meanwhile, nobody has snapped up the lights? Well at least we're helping to bump the thread!

Noob Question

How difficult is it to install the bix? I remember reading a post stating you have to remove the front bumper in order to get to the remove the headlight assembly. If I have the factory frosties, will these be plug and play?

You'll need to remove the bumper to remove the headlights. Fenders can stay. The units are plug and play for any Coupe but you may need to hook up STAR to change the light settings from halogen to xenon. Otherwise they will keep flashing on and off.

I am not sure how much different the coupes are from sedans, I didn't remove the bumper fully. Just unbolted one side at a time and it flexes just enough to get the headlight out/in.

And on mine if you turned on the lights before putting the car into gear they didn't flicker. It was only when they were in Auto mode or when I turned them on when driving that they'd flicker and throw errors.

IIRC, there doesn't seem to be much of a pattern as to whose flicker and whose don't, when they put them on, which mode, etc.

It's much better to just get the coding correctly reset, of course.

Looks like I'll have to make a special trip to the Dealer in the next state over to get the setting correct. Anyone have an idea what cost of that would be, generally speaking?

Find an indy with Star DAS, probably will cost you $50 vs $150 at the dealer (if the dealer will agree to do that with "nonstandard equipment" blah-blah-blah).

I walked through with my dealership on how to change the setting. They still had to charge me but it was about $60. No issues as they saw it was OEM.

Hey, that's a reasonable price for a dealer
I remember stories of US members not being able to do it at the dealer because they didn't have auto-leveling and headlight washers retrofitted...

THE C350
Depends on the dealer I walked in to mine and they had me pull my car into the service area and did it on the spot no charge.
