damage from using wrong wheel lugs.
Hello, I'm new here and have a problem.
I have a C230 all wheel drive. My wife got a flat tire yesterday and installed the spare using the wrong lug bolts (rear tire). The emergency brake springs are torn up and it appears that the hub is stripped out (although i have not run a tap through the holes yet). How do i remove the hub from the car? I have the nut removed, but not sure what is next. Any help would be appreciated. Also, what is a good source of parts for a replacement hub and emergency brake?

I assume this is for the drivers' side rear tire.
Do NOT go for a Mercedes genuine part. The hub for these cars cost well over 900 dollars, and ones which are considered genuine Mercedes parts go for 500-600 dollars. However, you can go on ebay and find them used. Last summer I slid into a curb because of poor weather, poor drivers, and poor tires. Ended up bending my hub. A replacement was 110 dollars shipped to my house.
Worst case, try Pelican Parts. Though there are a few of these hubs floating around.
To remove the hub, you need to remove all the bolts behind the hub which are connected to the suspension components. Once you do that, you need to pull up the rear seat bottom, and look for a "trap door" that holds the parking brake into place. Disconnect that, feed the line out of the body, and you're golden. Most hubs will come with the emergency brake and the cable, so you should be fine.
I just want to know how your wife managed to use the wrong lug bolts. She's supposed to use the same bolts that were on the flat. I also don't see how she would have used the wrong bolts, as the 'wrong' bolts would have to be threaded completely differently, or be a different size and wouldn't fit at all. These hubs aren't easy to strip unless you're using an impact gun and use way too much torque to put the bolts on.

W203 slightly modified
The original bolts were for an alloy. The replacement tire was a steel rim. That is why it went pear shaped.
Consider purchasing a spare front rim and put that in as the spare.
