help with oil leaks
Hey guys..I have a couple questions I need help on...used search as much as I could....
`05 c230 kompressor 150k
first-Vacuum pump was leaking, with directions from the this site, changed out all the seals instead of replacing pump. It was dry for 1 day, then started leaking again... I'm not sure what I could have done wrong? Any suggestions? Just replace outer gasket again?
Second-In the top front of engine, under plastic cover, I'm getting another oil leak. I'm not sure what the area is called, so hopefully the pics will be sufficient...is therea gasket that can be replaced there?
Sorry for being so vague...and thanks for your time!

These are Camshaft Adjuster Magnets on the front.
Is the oil leaking from under the housings or dripping from the wire connectors?
In the former case you can try to tighten the bolts and see if it stops leaking,
or buy new o-rings (#174 here: http://www.mbpartsworld.com/showAsse...rimLevel=20599)
If it's dripping from connectors, you are looking at replacing the magnets themselves.
Seems like you have pigtails fitted to the connectors, so the oil will not get into the engine wiring harness. (See this thread https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...nsor-leak.html for what happens if the oil gets into harness)

It is leaking from connectors...So will have to replace the magnets...but,I still can't figure out where the main oil leak is from...over night, the puddle is about 10"in diameter...I can't believe it's coming from the magnets...

You can try to clean the engine in the evening, and trace the oil to the source of the leak in the morning...
Might be rear main seal, oil pan leaking.
Is it engine oil puddle or transmission fluid (reddish color)?
