2001 C240 base - replaced MAF now intermittent stalling at idle
Hi there all,
AFTER I replaced the MAF sensor on my C240 (oem bosch sensor bought from Rockauto.com so should be reliable); I've developed an intermittent problem at idle.
I had a check engine light with the P0170/P0173 codes. Replaced the MAF sensor after reading through forum threads (thanks) and the CEL has been off for over 1000 km.
HOWEVER, I have now developed a problem where intermittently; at idle/intersections; the car feels like it wants to stall out/engine runs rough.
It could be coincidence but it seems to have happened after I replaced the MAF.
possibilities of course include the MAF so I just swapped back the old MAF sensor that had the check engine light on today to test.
HOWEVER, would there be a reason why the car would develop the intermittent stalling at idle if the new sensor were working properly and actually ok.
I don't want to waste the time and expense of mailing the new sensor for replacement if it could be something else.
For example; a dirty throttle body? BUT then, why wouldn't this happen with the old/bad sensor?
I'm absolutely confident that the old sensor was/had gone bad.
Thanks all and any opinions would be appreciated.

welll... to answer my own question.
i had the MAF sensor swapped out. At the same time, i cleaned the throttle body.
I'm not sure which of the 2 items fixed the problem but there is no more stalling problems.
both MAF sensors were from rockauto and were bosch branded / new.
