Aftermarket Bi-Xenon Headlight Issues
Hey all,
I've been a member for a while and been lurking the site but have never posted. Thanks in advance for any advice.
My issue is with new aftermarket bi-xenon headlights I installed recently. I bought them off of ebay from fishcake (Depo) and they seemed to work great for about 3 weeks after the install (even without Xenon = present).
Now it's as if the projectors have quite working. Both lights turn on but are not bright at all. I have even gone and gotten xenon set to PRESENT figuring maybe this was an issue.
Does anyone have any experience with what could be causing this malfunction? I'm not too familiar with the components involved with the bi-xenon headlights and was told that these were "plug and play".
Regards!

Could be bad bulbs or ballasts. Most aftermarket bulbs suck big time so that could easily be your issue! do you have the d2s bulbs or the h7 hid bulbs? if you have d2s bulbs i would buy some genuine philips 85122 bulbs form a trusted place such as amazon (most places such as on ebay and even some of the stores on amazon sell knock offs)
First though take some pictures of your output as well as let us know which one you bought. Have you talked to fishcake i have heard he has good CS.

I would order a set of quality D2s bulbs and go from their also make sure they are aligned correctly still I believe its two inches drop over 25 feet. Do you have a picture against a wall?

Before you buy anything, make sure that the bulbs are seated securely in the lamp. The bulbs in one of the BiX lamp sets I got were fine when they were first installed but after a while, they didn't throw much light at all. It turned out that the bulbs had either worked their way loose or they were never securely fastened in in the first place.

Thanks to all for replying and especially ncmudbug!
The issue was unseated bulbs as ncmudbug pointed out. I should have checked this first but thought that it would be way too unlikely that both headlights would become unseated.
I think this is due to the fact that they are aftermarket and not quite up to MB specs. At least the problem is solved and I don't have to shell out any more cash money

Glad I could help! As it turns out I was having a problem with one of my headlights and answering your post made me consider that I might be having the same problem - and I was! When I went to fix it I was having trouble getting everything to lock because I had forgotten how they all went together so I did a search on the forum in case somebody explained it. Well somebody did explain it - every detail - ME!
I'm just really happy I could help. I hope your lights are everything you want now!

hey buddy, can you PM me fishcake's email? I bought a set of depo headlights that a member here bought from him and I'm having some issued with the pins being to far back to make contact and there they don't light up ... maybe if I email him he can instruct me on best way to fix these as they were BNIB - Thx!
