Help! 2006 C230 Sport lost a bunch of transmission fluid
hello everyone,
Wifes 2006 C230 sport, 86000 miles with automatic transmission and V6.
The transmission cooler line on the drivers side of the transmission to the upper passenger side of the radiator rubbed against the main crank pulley until it wore a hole and there was a major leak.
I ordered the part from mercedes. It will be here Weds. However I could not get the metal part of the line out from betwee the engine and the engine mount, steering rack etc. So in the meantime went to home depot and got a brass coupler and some hose clamps.
Now I got it back together, but lost a ton of transmission fluid. I assume I need ATF 134, but i cannot find it, and i cannot figure out where to fill and how to measure if it is full. I see alot of info on the auto transmission on the 4 cylinder ones and on the new ones but i dont think I see any info on this one.
It is not shifting correctly an I dont want to ruin it. I am going to call MB and some indies Tuesday and see if they can do the line replacement and a transmission place that changed my fluid before. I am afraid I will ruin the transmission. maybe i need to tow it to someplace that can fill it.
Any help is welcome.
Thanks
Terry

mercedes transmissions are picky about fluid level being exact. +/- 3 ounces and you'll have problems. Definitely don't drive it till you get more info.
