Stepper motor problem
I've had this problem for at least 2 years now in my 2002 C230K...clicking that goes away in about a minute after I start the car. What are the consequences of not fixing the problem? My AC and heater work perfectly fine now.

Nothing will happen other than your vents won't work properly and the annoyance of the noise. You can fix it easily enough by following these instructions https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ml#post5386965
Don't buy anything until you know for sure what the trouble is. If its a stepper motor that's harder to get to you can move it to another location that's easier to get to for when you do get the replacement part.
