Extra O Ring Leftover
I just finished my first oil change on my first German car: a 2004 C240 2.6 4Matic. (German cars are weird!) I used the MB Mann filter. I was chagrinned to see I had a leftover o ring after replacing each o ring on the filter shaft thingy one for one. Please tell me that only 3 of the 4 o rings are used on this car?

They provide that many to cover all bases. If you replaced all of the ones that the one you replaced had, you're golden. For example, my 2002 C230 has even fewer O rings.
Think about it this way - if an 80s party comes around, you'll be set with a black wristband already.
And yes, German cars are quirky. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, but always odd.

Yeah the m112 filter comes with 4 but only uses 3. I was worried the first time I found this out to and took it all apart again and looked around to try and figure it out.
