Ambient outside air temp

So I have been looking all over to try and find the location of my ambient air sensor. I have a 2004 c230, the temp sensor on the dash is reading way lower then the temp outside so it obviously needs replacing. I've read that it's located in the lower grille and also near the fog light. Please help I didn't see it when I used a flash light to look threw the grille. Thanks!!

It's next to the fog light - look for the hole with the tiny pointy probe sticking out. Quite easy to access from underneath, once you remove the black panel.

So one of these holes correct?

I suppose it's suppose to be in one of these holes?

You're on the right track. On my pre-facelift coupe, it's on the R side of the car, in a circular hole, about 12cm from the R side fog light (towards the centre of the car) My probe looks like a sharp thin black cone.

Look for one hole that is only on one of the black panels but not the other. Actually, looking at your pics, I think it should be the lowest hole in the 2nd pic you posted. Notice that the other holes are also on the L side black panel. The probe should be sticking out there - looks like it has fallen inside the bumper. Pop it back into place and see if it fixes the problem. Otherwise you're looking at a replacement.
