Seat Cushion Replacement
So, my new to me C230 is in nice shape, except for the driver seat bottom. The seat "leather" is split at the seems in the middle of the seat cushion. Besides an auto upholstery shop, is there a ready made aftermarket seat cover I can replace it with?
The standard seat material is really quite poor on these cars!!

Well, I'm sure he found that a helpful post. :-)
Best thing to do is to buy a replacement on eBay I've been watching for seats myself (thinking of dumping the two-tone custom stuff and just replacing for stock black leather), and full and partial seats are on there quite often.

I was commenting on him saying that the seat material is very poor

Not from left field at all. The seat material does not really look or feel fantastic to me and the drivers seat pad is split in several places, right on the sewing seem! The rest of the seats are fine. Guess it makes sense that the drivers seat would be worse off, but for it to split up like that wreaks of cheapness to me.
No biggie... and a pretty ez "fix", but a bit disappointing to me.

I hope this helps. A couple of years ago, I had my passenger seat on my 2005 C230 re packed. The company in London ON was Fiberenew (they have a Toronto location) and they come to your house. The price was quite reasonable. Maybe they can provide a solution for you.

I just did this for a 2006 C230 I'm selling.....buy the cushion from a junk/salvage yard It is super easy to replace and don't even have to take the seat out.....there are 2 bolts with clamps on the front bottom of the seat that needs to be removed and that's it. The one thing I found is there are quite a difference in the type of patterns the seats have between years, AMG packages etc
The metal clips have plastic retaining clips snapped onto them...you need to unpop the plastic from the metal clamp and be careful bending the plastic piece open as they break real easy. If they do break it's no biggie and will fit back on NP.

Thanks for the feedback guys. What about the seat cushion cover then? Is there an aftermarket producer of pre-fab Mercedes OEM style covers? Any clue?
