Looking for ignition based power source in engine bay
I want my led markers to run everytime the car starts, day and night. Regardless of the daylight sensor, I don't have xenons so I don't really need the daytime running lights as well. Only the led markers.
I ran a connection from the yellow side markers and switched headlamp mode from manual to constant, at first. However, this only enables the headlights. The side markers only come on at night or by manually turning the headlight selector knob all the way to the right. Which I resorted to during the day until I forgot to shut them off before I went shopping & ended up with a dead battery!

I have tried all the fuses in the engine bay.
They seem to be either life all the time or when key in position 1.
None of them come on only for key in position 2.
I have decided to use one for key in position 1.
The alternative may be to look for a fuse in driver side compartment inside the car.
Shan.

I'd rather stay close to the bumper
In addition to you findings with the key switch dillema, I think running a fuse connection is unsafe as well as the great distance needed to carve the path for a clean installation.
Can't I splice into one of the sensor relays like the water bottle or the inner headlamp terminal? All I need is a switching positive connection. The left and right negative connections are closely grounded to the frame on its respective side as I think they should be.

And as for the alternative
I do appreciate your insight and do not at all mean to sound rude but I'm well aware of an interior based power source. Still, how the hell would I feed it through the firewall into the engine bay? Maybe the engine bay fuse option is not such a long way after all. lol
Regardless, thank you kindly for your help.

I used a fuse adapter/extension, whatever you call it, to tap from one of the existing fuses. This way you don't mess with the existing fuse and its original circuitry and is also neater than splicing the wires.
But the choice is yours.
