UPDATE: CHECK ENGINE LIGHT 2007 C230 Sport Sedan MPG Drop
Hi,
This is an update:
Check engine light came on and Autozone scanner came up with P0011 and P0022. By the way few months ago I took the car for a recall, I'm not sure what it was exactly but I believe it involved Solenoid. Please let me know if you have any helpful information.
Could anyone suggest fixes please? I did not notice any difference while driving.
Could you guys tell me what could be the reasons for an MPG drop? I drive too much and every mile for me makes a difference.
So I got the car in September with 82k, now it has 90k. I used to get 32mpg on highways easily. I think it was right after I took the car for service B that I noticed the drop. I just made a 400 miles trip and could barely reach 28.7 mpg. The weather is colder now, so I even tried long distances without AC but that didn't really help.
I put premium gas only. Are there any parts that could be replaced to improve the mileage?
Thank you

Define colder? If it's Northeast US cold, I have read many times the so called "winter blend" of gas does produce some drops in MPG. Not a lot, but anywhere between 1-3 MPG on average. Also, maybe in your B service they changed up the type of oil in your engine? Not sure if that would make a difference, but maybe going from 0W40 to 5W30 might affect the MPG ever so slightly.
Other things to look out for may be tire wear and inflation, where you're getting gas from, spark plugs, wires, MAF etc.

Actually YES! Colder weather means PA, MA. It gets really really cold and snowy. I will check the tire wear and inflation but I have no idea if my oil got changed.
I don't see any difference as far as the functioning of the car, is there any sign for sparks to be changed or wires or MAF?
I used to get Gas from turkey hill because I didn't know there is a difference back then, but now that I'm trying to isolate the issue, I get it from Sheetz, Sunoco and Gulf. Do you recommend anything else?
