P201C and P2044 fault codes

I have a 2005 C230 Kompressor. 85,407 miles on the odometer.

Engine runs perfect. No hesitation. No shaking. Plenty of power and good MPG. Does not show any "red" color warning light on the dashboard. I used my Android with Torque app and Bluetooth OBDII reader to read any possible fault codes. I got two errors.

P201C - Powertrain (no additional information given to me on Torque).

P2044 - Powertrain. Reductant Temperature Sensor Circuit Low Input.

What does these mean? I have these codes for the past 2 months now. I was thinking maybe it was misfire, so I replaced spark plugs (Bosch) last month. The fault code won't go away.

I also replaced camshaft sensors and adapter cables (harass) because they were leaking. Of course, they are not the part of fault code. It's just a preventive maintenance.

All I need to know what are P201C and P2044 codes? Misfire? Bad sensor in fuel tank pressure? Fuel tank cap? I don't know why I have these codes, the car runs just fine. Let me know and thanks!

I think I've solved the problem. I replaced all of spark plugs and cleaned the throttle body. I deleted the codes and drove over 100 miles, so far, the error codes did not return.

The engine runs (at idle) smooth and stable. It's much better now.

I have these codes too. Unfortunately, mine doesn't run smooth, it runs rough, wants to jump when I have my foot on the brake. What is a throttle body? I will try to find it if no one has answered or put a link yet.

Throttle body is basically the electronic actuated valve that controls the airflow (an internal combustion engine throttle is actually controlled by airflow) into the engine. On the M271 (that's the engine you have) it's located in front of the intake manifold, below the airbox. See video below for location.

I cleaned mine recently while doing a pile other repairs (no codes or CEL). Found that mine was pretty much perfectly clean (1 drop of oil) even at 235k km. It wouldn't hurt to take a look, though I'm not convinced it would solve your problem. While you have everything out, might as well replace the gasket that seals the TB to the intake manifold.

M271 throttle body clean Post #14 has a PDF.

(not my video)
