Check abs/esp computer connector for water damage.
What are the fault codes?

If I remember correctly, it was fault 3. Terminals were checked and were clean. Car has only 50K miles. When I apply brakes I now here slight "ticking" from right front brake. Wasn't there before. Mechanic suggested it might be the unit that monitors and controls pressure to brakes. At more than $1000 I am reluctant to just replace and hope it works.

Does the Indy you use have a star machine or a high end diagnostic computer that can talk to everything (not a cheap code reader) If so try to get us the codes from that.

"Traction Systems Active Faults 01 > C1101 : Right front axle VSS sensor (L6/2), open circuit, loose connection, implausible 2"
above from "Quick Test"
owner suggested I go to MBZ dealer, so far I am out $375 with no results!

Was the right speed sensor the one replaced? was it an OEM/OES part? I would hope if the shop can't fix it and threw parts at an issue he would help you on cost its not your problem he doesn't know what he is doing.

Yes it was right sensor. Don't know if OEM/OES part. Have appointment at MBZ dealer on 9th. If no satisfaction with current mechanic I will just have to eat costs and write a scathing review to Angies list and other forums. This shop has just recovered from such a review several years ago so they may be willing to compensate me. Will keep this forum informed of new developments. Thanks for your help.
