How can I get a cigarette smell out of the plastic center air vent?
Weird problem. I had to replace my center air vent so I ordered a used one off eBay, not realizing or even considering that it would be from a smoker's car (which I am assuming is what the smell is). Whatever the smell is, it has 'soaked in' to the plastic. It was very noticeable as soon as I opened the box it came in. I installed it and the air that blows out through it smells awful, while the air that blows from my other vents smells fine. The vent is structurally in perfect condition, so I'd rather not have to take it out and return it. Any suggestions?
and ones like it are geared toward cleaning out the ventilation system and evaporator core, so I don't think it would really help me since my problem is the plastic part itself.

Run an ozone generator, set the climate control to recirc, and run at low speed for several hours.
