STAR won't communicate with my car (2001 C240)

Recently, I bought a set of DEPO projectors. These DEPOs are meant for halogen models, but when I plugged them in they did not work.

Many members have recommended me get my car coded to enable XENON = Present.

Went to my friend that has STAR DIAG and the system was not able to communicate with my car at all. The ignition system, or the cluster module, basically none of the modules could be read.

My friend said something about PIN 15 in the obd not having nay power. Does anybody know what is wrong with it?

If I can't code it, the headlights will probably not work. More importantly, some of you know I am also doing a C32 to C240 part swap. Without STAR system coding, I am not able to do much of the interior retrofits.

Any insights/ help would be greatly appreciated!

Under the steering wheel of your dash is the OBD2 port for your car. That OBD2 port is protected by a little plastic door - cover thingy,... unscrew that little plastic door - cover thingy so the OBD2 male connector of the cable can go in deeper into the OBD2 female connector of the car,.... insert your own joke here,....

Let me know if it works,... I'll need some STAR coding done soon too,....

Sunny is ***** on right. I couldn't get my OBD 2 reader to read my car, I unscrewed the port and got the extra contact that I needed.

Do try this. They are torx screws if memory serves.

Thanks guys, I will look into it.

Funny thing though, we tried his bluetooth OBD 2 reader and it was able to read with my car perfectly. So I'm not sure if this is the problem.

I will let him know anyways and see if this is the reason why.

Actually,... its a little trick I learned from OntMiss when he was using his STAR C3 Diag to connect to my car.

PatrickKC,.... the bluetooth OBD2 probably works because it`s male connector is longer VS the male connector of the cable,.... yes, size really does matter!

Ah, thanks I will let my coding guy know this and retry! OntMiss coded for me a few years ago. I actually messaged him a few months ago and but he has stopped coding unfortunately.

Edit, is it just the design of the W203 with the plastic? many cars have been coded and it has worked.

THE C350
I had the same issue with the dealer and my connector for whatever reason it wouldn't connect until we forced the connector onto the car very hard and then it worked fine. That was when I convinced my local dealer to do star coding for me for FREE!!!! lol had me drive the car into the bay myself and got to watch
