W203 C320 Power Issues
Hi All,
This is my first post so be gentle .
I was wondering if anyone has had any similar issues to the following that is killing me mentally and financially at the moment.
I have a 2001 C320 Avantgarde with low mileage (64k). I started to experience engine stalls a couple of months ago and had the Crankshaft Position sensor replaced. This fixed the stalling but the engine became louder after and over revved as if in Sports mode permanantly and lost some power. This got worse over a few days and started to judder when at a junction and was non responsive for a few seconds when I went to pull away.
This was diagnosed as the MAF so off I went and replace that. The issue is still there though and keeps flicking in and out of limp mode. I took it to a third specialist today who diagnosed the left catalytic converter and 2,4 and 6 were misfiring (I think).
I am really hoping this is the final fault as if I go ahead with this the total bill so far has been about £1,500.00.
Has anyone suffered a similar scenario and what was the outcome?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Rich

I would hope the shops that didn't fix it properly would have helped with the costs of the misdiagnosis...
Have any of the shops had a star machine? Also a good way to test if the MAF is related is to unplug it as the car goes back to its default settings and should run okay (not great) also make sure they put on a OEM MAF as the aftermarket ones are junk and some places try to put a VW one on but it won't work properly.
Do you get any wired rattling noises?
